Company Overview

We empower survivors and restructure institutional approaches to sexual assault in an accessible and approachable fashion. We use education, technology, and community to create social change that smashes rape culture and replaces it with a culture of consent and support for survivors.

Vision

We aim to directly help 1,000,000 survivors by 2026 and spark effects in policy changes, sex education, and social stigma around sexual assault.

The Social Problem:

The US spends over $127 billion dollars per year on rape, making is the most expensive yet least reported crime in the entire country, and it's happening every 73 seconds. Institutions are uninformed and lack effective resources, individuals are silenced, and left with serious mental health issues like PTSD, substance abuse, 33% have suicidal thoughts, and 13% attempt suicide.

According to the Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network (RAINN), 1 in 5 women and 1 in 13 men on average will be assaulted during their undergraduate career in the United States.

Less than 10 percent will ever report their assault to the police and those who do, on average, wait 11 months to make their report.

Competitive Analysis

According to a quick google search and the https://ovc.ojp.gov/ the top mobile app in the market is currently Rainn, with support from the Office for Victims of Crime, the Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network developed a mobile app to provide resources for victims of sexual assault. (source)
The app can connect survivors with safe and secure group support online. Users can contact the National Sexual Assault Hotline by phone or chat through the app, connect with other survivors through a peer-to-peer helproom, and locate services in their area. The mobile app also allows survivors and their loved ones to find educational resources and tools to help them practice self-care. Click here to learn more.
